CPE Policies
Registration
Registration fee covers instruction, program materials, lunch and parking at
most venues (NO validation for valet parking). Registration forms must be
submitted.
*Staff registration fee eligibility - in CPA firm; one who works
under the direct supervision of the HSCPA member.
Early Registration Discount Fee
The "Early Registration Fee" is applicable for registrations received in the
HSCPA office 10 working days prior to the course date (as indicated in this
catalog). After such date, the full registration will apply. Envelope
postmark or e-mail date will determine eligibility.
Confirmation/Materials
Upon receipt of registration and payment, a confirmation will be faxed or
e-mailed indicating course title, date(s), time and location. If a
confirmation is not received at least two business days prior to the course
date, please contact the HSCPA office to confirm receipt of registration.
Program materials are distributed upon registration/sign-in at the seminar.
It may not be possible to distribute program materials to all registrants at
the time of the seminar. Late registrants / walk-ins may receive program
materials after all the early registrants have been accommodated.
Program Hours - Indicated on confirmations
Courses will run from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. unless otherwise stated.
Registration will begin at 8:00 a.m. or 1/2 hour prior to the start of the
program. Lunch (included) is generally scheduled from 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m.
Half-day courses will run from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for morning (AM)
seminars and 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. for afternoon (PM) seminars.
CPE Credit Certificates
Sign in AND sign out is mandatory to receive CPE certificate and will be
distributed upon conclusion of course. Participant will receive credit only
for attendance period - adjustment to certificate will be made if participant
leaves prior to scheduled conclusion.
Lunch and Parking
Registration fee includes instruction, program materials, lunch, refreshment
breaks, and self-parking. Parking validation includes (1) full validation
for designated course -- VALET PARKING WILL NOT BE VALIDATED.
Cancellation - By HSCPA
The HSCPA reserves the right to cancel a course due to an insufficient number
of registrations. When this happens, registrants will be notified and full
refunds will be distributed.
The decision to cancel a course with low registration will be made five (5)
days prior to the scheduled date. Early registration participants in all
seminars help avoid unnecessary cancellations.
The HSCPA is not responsible for penalties or expenses incurred by registrants
who must cancel travel arrangements due to course cancellation.
Cancellation - By Registrant
Full refund will be made when notice of cancellation is made in writing ten
(10) working days prior to the course date. Cancellations received less than
ten (10) working days before a course will be assessed a $50 administration
fee. No seminar cancellation will be accepted on or after the presentation
date. "No shows" forfeit full registration fee.
Substitutions
Substitution of another individual for an established registration will be
accepted with written notice to the HSCPA up to the day before course.
Neighbor Island Member Benefit - REVISED
Neighbor island members (Regular Resident) registering for courses listed in
the 2010 Professional Development Program catalog (unless otherwise indicated)
will receive a $75.00 discount on 8- and 16-hour courses.
Only applicable to 8 or 16-hour courses listed in this catalog - to be
applied to registration fee only.
Two-day (16-hour) courses eligible for one $75 discount only.
Cancellations and no-shows will forfeit discount benefit. Not valid for
courses/conferences as indicated in this catalog.
Due to economic uncertainties, the HSCPA reserves the right to discontinue
this benefit at any time.
