In this role, the analyst will manage the preparation and documentation of the collection, consolidation, analysis and reporting of financial information on A&B’s operations. The successful candidate’s responsibilities range from, but are not limited to, the preparation of monthly consolidated and consolidating financial and statistical reports furnished to management and the Board of Directors; assisting in the preparation of SEC filings, drafting of slides for presentation to management and the Board of Directors; drafting of financial reports to the Board of Directors; preparation and filing of financial-type reports for governmental agencies and financial institutions and development of other specific financial information as requested. The candidate should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and be a Certified Public Accountant or comparable, or actively pursuing recommended certification. A strong knowledge of and experience with Excel, Word, and other PC applications, including the use of macros are required. The candidate should have strong organizational skills and must be detailed oriented with the capacity to manage multiple tasks, prioritize time and communicate clearly with team members. The position requires a working knowledge of financial statement preparation and generally accepted accounting principles, as well as the capacity for imaginative, analytical and realistic thinking to understand business issues relevant to A&B. ACCOUNTABILITY Responsible for the month end consolidation process. Such functions include creating journal entries and logic, data loading, report writing and user training. Reviews and ties out slides, earnings releases, quarterly earnings call slides, quarterly supplements, and other reports as assigned. Assists Manager, Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting with the preparation of various financial and SEC reports and participates in special projects. NATURE AND SCOPE The candidate should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and be a Certified Public Accountant or comparable, or actively pursuing recommended certification. A strong knowledge of and experience with Excel, Word, and other PC applications, including the use of macros are required. The candidate should have strong organizational skills and must be detailed oriented with the capacity to manage multiple tasks, prioritize time and communicate clearly with team members. The position requires a working knowledge of financial statement preparation and generally accepted accounting principles and the capacity for imaginative, analytical and realistic thinking to understand business issues relevant to the Company. The candidate should demonstrate sufficient technical knowledge and expertise to complete assignments free of errors and in compliance with Company policy and regulatory requirements with some supervision. SPECIFIC ACCOUNTABILITIES 1. Prepares monthly consolidated financial statements and other financial information, including consolidating journal entries in Cognos Controller and internal communication such as board presentations. 2. Aggregates relevant financial information and prepares consolidation of all monthly, quarterly and annual financial and external reporting in a timely, accurate and efficient manner. 3. Maintains relationship and communications with other internal departments, including the timing of documentation requests. Monitors progress of documentation requests and ensures the timely completion of all follow-up items. 4. Assists with the preparation of various financial and SEC reports and prepares and files various financial reports to government agencies on a timely basis. 5. Ties out SEC files & reports (e.g. Forms 10-Q, 10-K, etc.), quarterly earnings call slides, earnings releases, quarterly supplements, and other reports to supporting working papers, as well as verifying consistency between each of the aforementioned documents. 6. Maintains the Cognos Controller Software. Creates and updates integral components of the system and works with the Manager of Financial Systems, as required. 7. Provides information that is included in the quarterly debt compliance reports to banks and other financial institutions. 8. Prepares all census and other governmental reports and tracks the progress of those separately prepared the Company’s business units. 9. Provides back-up support to Accounting Manager, as required. 10. Performs ad hoc technical research and participates in other special projects, as required.
