Job Description

A&B is in search of a self-motivated and energetic individual to manage our Accounts Receivable department. The Manager of Accounts Receivable will establish strategic and collaborative methods of increasing cash flow, reducing bad debt and maintain accurate accounting records. The successful candidate will standardize procedures and continuously improve the financial and operational processes of the department. In addition, the position will be responsible for the quality and collection of an accounts receivable portfolio. This position requires a thorough understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and commercial real estate sector knowledge. Excellent written and oral communication skills are a must. An undergraduate degree in accounting or equivalent is required. 5 years of relevant experience is preferred, as well as a minimum of 3 years of managerial experience. RESPONSIBILITIES

• Manage the centralized billing, collections, cash applications and AR/DSO forecasting operations for the commercial real estate portfolio
• Drive process improvements through setting targets for key metrics and implementing more efficiency tools
• Analyze receivable aging, identify credit risks/trends, and propose solutions to minimize financial exposure
• Prepare and review reports on the status of collections matters with senior management
• Establish goals and monitor key performance metrics to measure the quality and efficiency of the billing and collection processes
• Develop relationships with portfolio operations, accounting, legal and other departments to provide transparency into the accounts receivable processes as well as consistently enhance the overall quality of the collection process
• Responsible for staff development, work assignments, departmental objectives, performance management and other managerial tasks
• Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with the company’s policies & procedures in accordance with GAAP.
• Work with internal and external auditors and ensure the accuracy and completeness of all audit deliverables.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

• 5 years of relevant experience. B2B, Commercial Real Estate sector experience preferred
• Minimum of 3 years of managerial experience
• Proven ability to perform strategic planning and priority setting for the accounts receivable department
• Proven track record for driving process efficiencies and solving problems
• Strong system experience in the billing, collection and cash application areas
• Strong leadership skills with an ability to motivate direct reports
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal, and internal personal skills
• Excellent analytical, negotiating and problem solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently
• Good understanding of general accounting principles and internal control framework

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting or a related experience is required
