Policies

Webinar Registration / Cancellation

Webinars are intended for individual viewing only - each person viewing a webinar must be registered for the event. 

CPE credit can only be earned through the registrant's e-mail address.  Polling will be conducted periodically throughout the webinar. 

Cancellation for webinar must be received via e-mail (cpe@hscpa.org) at least 3 business days prior to the event start date.  You may substitute another person if you are unable to attend (additional non-member fees may apply).

A/V Testing PRIOR to event - It is the responsibility of the attendee to test their computer set-up prior to the start of the webinar.  If a technical failure at your home or workplace prevents access to the webinar, you will not be eligible for a refund.

Materials for webinars are available for attendee download prior to the event.  You must login to obtain (under E-Materials) as only registered participants have access to materials.

Link for the webinar is e-mailed one day prior to the event.  If you do not receive, you will need to check your spam/junk folder - or contact the HSCPA office via e-mail (info@hscpa.org) or (808) 537-9475.

Register - Online, Mail or Fax

Registration fee covers instruction, program materials, lunch and parking at most venues (NO validation for valet parking). Registration form must be thoroughly completed.  Download CPE registration form to register by mail or fax.

Registration Policies

Registrations are processed on a first-come, first-served, space available basis.

Walk-ins at registrant’s risk - program materials may not be available (walk-ins are NOT allowed for CPE Choice - regular fee will apply).

Fees

Member fees are applicable for HSCPA members in good standing only during the current membership year.

“Early Registration Fee” is applicable for registration received in the HSCPA office 10 working days prior to the course date. After such date, the full registration will apply. Envelope postmark or e-mail date will determine eligibility.

Confirmation / Course Materials

A confirmation will be e-mailed indicating course title, date(s), time, location and selection of program material delivery (Printed, if applicable) upon processing of payment. If a confirmation is not received at least two business days prior to the course date, please contact the HSCPA office to confirm receipt of registration.

For PRINTED materials, the applicable fee must be paid at the time of registration and will be available for pick up onsite at seminar.

Program materials will be available for download at least five (5) days prior to course (printed materials must be ordered five (5) days in advance). We advise that you download the materials to your device prior to attending the course.  NO INTERNET PROVIDED AT MOST SEMINARS - unless noted.  Late registrants / walk-ins may receive course materials after the course date.

Program Hours - Indicated on confirmation

Courses generally run from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. unless otherwise stated. Registration will begin at 8:00 a.m. or 1/2 hour prior to the start of the program.

Half-day courses run from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. for morning (AM) seminars and 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. for afternoon (PM) seminars.

CPE Certificates

Sign in AND sign out is mandatory to receive CPE certificate.  CPE certificate is sent via e-mail after course reconciliation (generally, 2 business days after course).  Attendee must notify the HSCPA if certificate is not received during this time.  A duplicate certificate will be re-sent (one time only) within 30 days of the course attended.  A $25 reissuance fee will be assessed if after the 30-day period. 

Participant will receive credit only for attendance period - adjustment to certificate will be made if participant leaves prior to scheduled conclusion.  A $25 fee will be assessed for reissuance of certificate.

Lunch

Registration fee includes instruction, program materials, continental breakfast, lunch, and afternoon refreshment break.

Cancellation Policies

The HSCPA reserves the right to cancel a course due to an insufficient number of registrations. The decision to cancel a course with low registration will be made five (5) days prior to the scheduled date.

Travel expenses incurred by registrant will not be reimbursed.

A full refund will be made when notice of cancellation is made in writing ten (10) working days prior to the course date. Cancellations received less than ten (10) working days before a course will be assessed a $50 administration fee. A “No show” forfeits full registration fee.

Substitution

Substitutions will be accepted with written notice to the HSCPA up to the day before course - fees will apply, if applicable.

Neighbor Island Member Benefit - REVISED

A special discount will be applicable for Neighbor Island members in good standing (valid for most courses). $100 for Regular members; $50 for Associate members. One discount per 8- or 16-hour course. Cannot be used with other discounts. Cannot be combined with other discounts. Due to economic uncertainties, the HSCPA reserves the right to discontinue this benefit at any time.

Ethics CPE Requirement

Effective for the December 31, 2011 renewal of your CPA license, and for every biennial license renewal thereafter, you are required to complete 4 hours of continuing professional education (CPE) in ETHICS or PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT, pursuant to Hawaii Administrative Rules section 16-71-2.

All HSCPA-sponsored courses can be tracked and monitored through the HSCPA website (available for members only).
