Keck Observatory (WMKO), a 501(c)3 non-profit, is offering an excellent opportunity for a Senior Accountant who will aim to constantly improve reporting & systems and produce high-quality products in an efficient, accurate and timely manner. Reporting to the Financial Controller, the Senior Accountant oversees accounting functions and staff, and prepares reports detailing financial results through the utilization of the computerized financial information system (FIS). Establishes and maintains accounting practices and internal controls to ensure accurate and reliable data necessary for business operations, and develops improvements in processes to increase effectiveness. Required Qualifications include • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or related field from an accredited University. • Five (5) or more years of experience supervising employees and managing reporting, accounts payable and receivable, general ledgers, and payroll. • Strong understanding of GAAP, FASB, OMB compliance and federal and state regulations.
