Job Description
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities: ♦ Prepares timely and complete financial statements for all companies and consolidated financial statements. ♦ Identify and clarify business development growth opportunities. ♦ Responsible for developing strategy and analytics used to support key business decisions. ♦ Evaluates monthly Profit and Loss statements, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow Statement by company for large variances before distribution to Branch Managers, supervisors and Executives. ♦ Analyzes operating expenses i.e. outside services, materials, travel and entertainment expenses for variances from plan and prior year. ♦ Reviews and approves various accounting documents and reconciliations. ♦ Recommends improvements on existing computer reports/programs and development of new reports. ♦ Audits/approves the preparation of the cash management reports. ♦ Supports/performs month-end and year-end close process. ♦ Coordinates and oversees the compilation of the annual audit/review package. ♦ Prepares reports and completes applications for annual insurance renewals. ♦ Maintains fixed assets of all companies; additions, retirements, and depreciation. ♦ Coordinates requests for special computer reports. ♦ Oversees the operations of the accounting department, responsible for selection, retention, performance evaluation, and supervision of accounting personnel in accordance to Equal Employment Opportunity policies and regulations. ♦ Guides financial decisions by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing policies and procedures. ♦ Protects assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls. ♦ Prepares budgets by establishing schedules, collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data. ♦ Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: ♦ Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university in Accounting. ♦ Minimum seven years of progressive accounting experience. ♦ Thorough knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and practices. ♦ Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills; skilled manager of people. ♦ Must possess good analytical accounting and organizational skills. ♦ Familiarity with JDEdwards accounting/inventory system desirable. ♦ Proficiency with MS Excel, Word, and Power Point applications. ♦ Ability to maintain confidentiality. ♦ Mathematical aptitude for accomplishing tasks requiring high degree of accurate calculations.
