Prerequisites

A basic understanding of fiduciary accountings, their preparation and applicable law, is required. The course FDAF Settled and Approved: Fiduciary Accounting from Start to Finish is recommended.

Description

The submission of a fiduciary accounting to a client, attorney, or court often does not mean the end, and instead marks only the beginning of the process. CPAs, attorneys, and trustees may have to defend or challenge the fiduciary accounting.

This course will explore what happens when disputes arise as to an accounting; discuss real world situations involving defense of or challenge to an account; demystify the dispute process; and inform CPAs and others of challenges of serving as the fiduciary and/or account preparer.

  • Resolving fiduciary accountings that do not balance
  • Addressing questions about a fiduciary accounting
  • Reviewing other party's fiduciary accounting
  • Preparing for a deposition or trial on your fiduciary accounting
