This fast-paced course covers the latest developments in federal taxation, updated bi-weekly, emphasizing real-world applications. The program offers an in-depth discussion of important items covered during the preceding 12 months on Kaplan's Current Federal Tax Developments website. Emphasis on current issues, planning, and strategy keeps participants interested all day. Participants will learn how to avoid penalties, use IRS Frequently Asked Questions to answer tough questions relating to new laws, and plan with regulations. The course will guide other issues, such as recently passed legislation.
Objectives
Participants will be able to:
- Understand and work with tax law changes
- Analyze court decisions, IRS notices, revenue rulings, and revenue procedures for application to clients' tax planning and compliance
- Be aware of IRS audit issues
- Assess pending legislation
- Anticipate and create opportunities for tax reduction
