Join the Y-CPAs in giving back to the community at the Hawaii VITA/TCE project!

Volunteer tax preparers DO NOT sign as a preparer.  All tax returns are deemed prepared by the Taxpayer, not the volunteer.  All volunteers are covered by the Volunteer Protection Act, which generally protects unpaid volunteers from liability for acts or omissions that occur while acting within the scope of their responsibilities at the time of the act or omission.  Volunteers are not protected if they commit a crime such as fraud or theft while serving as volunteers.

The Hawaii VITA program is sponsored by Hawaii VITA & Financial Empowerment Solutions.  The Hawaii VITA Program has been around for 13 seasons with 2,427 volunteers.  Thus far, the VITA volunteers have helped over 47,800 clients obtain refunds of $72.6M and claimed $35M in federal tax credits.
