Objectives
After completing this course the participant will be able to:
- List the exclusion limitations for married and single taxpayers.
- Advise clients on the appropriate timing of the home sale.
- List the relevant factors that determine the taxpayer's "principal residence."
- Determine the taxpayer's appropriate principal residence when the taxpayer owns multiple homes.
- Explain the "non-qualified use" rules.
- Identify appropriate authorities for the home-sale exclusion.
